Episode ONE - A new way forward.. will it work?

Welcome back. I was recently told by YouTube that I could do a better job.. of not just bringing people to my channel, but growing my community.

So I'm trialing a New, longer, more of a magazine type video. The things I'm doing over a period of 5 days. Its taken a long time to edit down. 16 hours editing in total, so it's not too long, just long enough. Plenty of my week and what I'm interested in, and what's going on.

I hope you like this.. Should I make my videos like this again? I don't know.
It'll take a couple of videos to get used to how I'm doing things. If I can get the views, the hours, the subscribers.. Then it might continue.

Charred stool, Yakisugi or Shou Sugi ban? I go crazy with a Blow Torch

🔥I've wanted to try this out for so long. And on something that didn't really matter too much. So the stool got burned.

🔥Is it Shou Sugi ban, Charred or Yakasugi? I think the name is in the type of Wood and depth of burn that would give it its name. 

🔥You tell me? I could spend hours searching and probably still be as confused.

🔥Many years ago I would have called it charred. Now with so many Japanese words and techniques entering our vocabulary it's become a trend, that does get lost in translation.

2024 Moving Forwards - Into my 4th year on YouTube

I'm going to have to make some changes. There's just too much going on, I'm spendin time and getting stressed by videos clogging up my phone to make project type videos and things can take me too long to sort out. 

I'm now looking at making regular videos on what has gone on in those few days or week. I think it'll work really well. 

You can watch the video here and I can go into more detail on the plans for 2024. 

It's going to be a tight but very good year moving forward.

Budget 10k Waterstone vs Naniwa 10k. Sharpening Japanese Power Grip wood carving chisels

Mike has a new Waterstone and some new carving chisels.. How do they fare?
Are budget Waterstones any good?

It's very easy for an inexperienced person to slip up and make the blade not work. Watch the angles I use to get the best out of these chisels. And would I buy one of these 10k stones?

If you are not a patient person then this one is not for you...But also if you clicked on the link then you probably do need to watch.. But have more patience.

All I can say is watch and grow.
