10ft Church Pew into Kitchen Corner Seating

This 10ft church pew had served its time — until Lou decided to give it a new life.

In this video, I take you through how I cut down an old church pew and transformed it into a beautiful kitchen corner seat.

It’s not a tutorial — more a look at the thought process, challenges, and small decisions along the way that make woodworking so rewarding.

If you enjoy seeing old furniture brought back to life and reused with purpose, you’ll enjoy this one.

Thank you

🍷 Wine Boxes to Tool Boxes

Finding Beauty and Purpose in Simple Materials

Every so often, a small project reminds me why I love this craft. This week, it was a few old wine boxes — nothing fancy, just pine crates with a bit of history in their grain. But with a little care, they’ve become plane storage boxes for my tiny workshop.

There’s something satisfying about turning something ordinary into something useful. The wine boxes already carried a story — stamped names, small dents, the smell of wood that’s lived another life. I didn’t want to hide that; just guide it a little, so it could continue being useful in a new way.

Each box now holds one or two planes, neatly divided, ready to hand. It’s a small improvement, but in a tiny shed workshop, that sort of order makes all the difference.

You can watch the whole process here:

If you enjoy these quiet, thoughtful projects, please consider liking, sharing, and subscribing to the channel — it helps me keep making and sharing more of this work. And if you’d like to go a little further, there’s a Super Thanks button under the video. Every bit of encouragement helps keep the shavings curling. 🪚

Thanks, as always, for following along — for watching, reading, and being part of this small but growing workshop.

Thank you
