Can we fix a BENT Plane? A bent Rebate plane get the full treatment

Hi, welcome back.

This time, we have a bent Carriage Makers Plane and it's a real project.

A carefully worded (so it can't be returned) Ebay item was bought and it has to be fixed.

Also known as a Carriage Makers plane, Coach Makers plane, Bench Rebate & Jack Rabbet (in the US).

These smaller planes are great to use as a general bench rebating plane and this one now will have to be restored.. Maybe slightly modified too. But we will see about that later, after the most important part.

Can we bend this plane back into the (somewhere near) correct position. 

Well you can watch how we sort this plane out. Robert is a great engineer who I chat to quite often. He thinks we should be able to heat it up and straighten it.

The Briquettes making process. Does this mean that the Press can go?
Making these briquettes in seconds using my hands rather than a press. Speed is good but also the size. These will dry out quicker and be ready for use much quicker than the pressed briquettes.

A viable alternative to making with my press? or made for convenience? Mix it up a little.

Woodworking responsibly. Clearing up after ourselves and being responsible for our waste. My waste makes my home warm.
